Founded in 1945, Do it Best Corp. is a member-owned cooperative of over 4,300 hardware stores, home centers, and lumberyards in the United States and in 43 countries around the world. Do it Best Corp. is headquartered in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and stocks more than 68,000 hardware and building material products at each of our seven strategically located retail service centers: Cape Girardeau, MO; Dixon, IL; Lexington, SC; Medina, OH; Waco, TX; Woodburn, OR; and Montgomery, NY. Member purchases are approaching $2.5 billion annually, our cost of operation is the lowest in our industry, and our financial strength is exemplified through our Dun & Bradstreet 5A1 credit rating.

As a cooperative, Do it Best Corp. profits are returned to our members through year-end rebates. In fiscal 2002, Do it Best Corp. returned $95.6 million to our retailers. Year after year, Do it Best Corp. delivers the lowest operating overhead, the highest rebates, and greater profits to our members.

Do it Best Corp. is a member-owned cooperative and is guided by the expertise and ideas of the members of our Board of Directors. This group is entirely composed of and elected by Do it Best Corp. stockholders - those hardware, lumber, and home center store owners who make up our 4,300 member-retailers.

Do it Best Corp. President and CEO Bob Taylor, our Executive Vice President and COO, and seven divisional vice-presidents direct and grow our company through the teamwork of Do it Best Corp. staff in these areas: Finance, Information Technology, Marketing, Lumber, Building Materials, Hardware Products Purchasing, Retail Development, and Retail Logistics. Each of those areas, in turn, performs many functions in the day to day operation of serving Do it Best Corp. members worldwide.
